Big 7 Champs

The Nemaha Central Girls Basketball took on Sabetha on Monday, December 4th. This was their last game of the season. The 8th graders and 7th graders played at the same time in different gyms. The girls did a very good job beating the Blue Jays.

First up is the 8th graders. The 8th grade A team played a very good game against Sabetha. They were up the whole game and did a good job beating Sabetha. The girls played good aggressive defense. They ran a good offense and played their plays strongly. The 8th grade A team won 42-16. The 8th grade B team followed the A team's performance. They were down at first but got right back up in points. They had an amazing defense and offense. They also won their game 28-19.

Lexi Lewis commented, “The girls played a very good game. I am sad that I could not play but they destroyed Sabetha and I am very proud of them.”

Next up is the seventh graders. The A team was down some of the game but came back and beat Sabetha. They played good defense but they couldn’t stop them all the time. The A team won 27-22. Next up is the B tea. The B team played amazingly and had a great game. They were very happy to beat the Blue Jays. They won their game the most they ever had, 19-9.

"Sabetha was ahead for some of the game but we ended up coming back and beating them. It was bittersweet being our last game and Coach Macke cried a little bit because she was so proud of us." said 7th grader Madison Ward.
